Joann Larkee wants to fulfill your vision with a customized Florida-Friendly Landscape™ design. She knows what it takes to make your Florida environment thrive with eco-friendly plants that beautify your world as much as they serve our world's environment!
Joann spent years as a Marketing Professional, most of them in Southwest Florida. A Wisconsin Farmer’s daughter, she has always had an interest in Horticulture and has always spent time enhancing her own landscape. In 2019 she began to make the transition to Florida Horticulture to benefit the water. In March 2020, she earned the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Best Management Practices Certificate.
In 2020-2021, she studied under the direction of Bob Cook to earn the Florida Horticulture Professional Certificate. She also earned the Florida-Friendly Landscaping Professional Certificate in 2023. After working at Good Roots Nursery and Garden Center (owned by Sandhill Native Growers) in 2021 and 2022, she decided to focus on helping homeowners gain knowledge and develop plans to convert their landscape to an environmentally beneficial Florida-Friendly Yard. Beneficial Landscapes LLC was founded in August 2022.
